1900-S Morgan Silver Dollar
1900-S Morgan Silver Dollar
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
George T. Morgan was an assistant in the U.S. Mint when he first came up with the idea for the design of the Morgan Silver Dollar. He later became the chief engraver in the U.S. Mint which was a position he definitely earned, since it was his genius which created arguably the most beautiful coin ever, especially coming out of the U.S. Anna Williams was chosen to model as Lady Liberty, which shocked a majority of people because she was a school teacher and was not even a remotely famous individual. A 120 year old coin, the 1900-S Morgan Silver Dollar had a mintage of 3,540,000, which was the lowest minted amount for that year of the series, lower than both the Philadelphia and New Orleans minted Morgan Silver Dollars in 1900.
